Another of the most spectacular sites along our journey was Crater Lake, Oregon. At 8000 feet elevation, the lake is filled by rainwater only. Our campsite felt like an acre of secluded pine forest, backed up against a ravine. The "wildlife" seemed fairly tame, and we both got many close-ups.
