The hardest popcorn removal job yet (by area), we've started on the living room. We staged this process, sort of...we set up our drop cloths so that we could do the small patch of ceiling next to the kitchen first. This was a huge inconvenience, because the kitchen was all-but-inaccessible for about a week (although, we did climb over the counter several times and still cook a few meals).
Next, once the ceiling in that small portion was finished and the dust had settled, we shifted the plastic slightly so that the path from the entryway to the kitchen was clear, and the living room was totally compartmentalized. All of the furniture from the living room is spread out through the house...both sofas are in our bedroom, and the TV is in the entryway. This stage is still in progress. The area is huge, the popcorn has been painted several times (which makes removal difficult), and there are lots of joints and nail holes to putty and sand. Stand by for photos of the finished product.
